SAYAN BISWAS

I am a software engineer who happens to use a camera. I am drawn less by the identity of being a photographer and more by the act of observing. For me, photography is about noticing, slowing down to see what often goes unnoticed in everyday life. Balancing a full-time career in technology, I bring discipline and structure into my process while remaining open to uncertainty. I do not seek to define myself as an artist, but as someone trying to pay closer attention to the world around me.

My photographs have received international recognition, including five selections for National Geographic Editor’s Choice and third prize at the Indian Portrait Prize 2024, organised by the Indian Photo Festival. My work has been exhibited widely in India and internationally, with showcases across major Indian cities and in countries including Italy, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Australia, Brazil, and New Zealand. It has also been featured across several photography platforms and international publications.
