I am an amateur street photographer, shooting mostly in London and south east England. I try to capture the essence of a person or say something about humanity in my photographs. For this reason, all my work is candid. Street photography, to me, is about looking at the everyday and finding beauty in it. That's the challenge and the thrill - setting off on a day's shooting I never know what I will get. Most of the time it's like fishing in a polluted stream and all I catch is rubbish - every so often I catch a gem and it's those moments that make it so exhilarating, so addictive and so worthwhile. Because I try to be discreet, I shoot with small cameras and usually with a small prime lens.
