PHOTO THERAPY

For fine arts photographer, Laura Binaghi, photography is her therapy. Through her beautiful and whimsical captures, Laura expresses what she is...her soul, and the way she looks at the world.

Let your soul speak and photograph.

When did you start getting interested in photography?

I started four years ago, but in the past I had done a couple of years of analog photography.

Where do you find your inspiration?

Every element of the visible world is a source of inspiration as long as the light touches it.

Who are your favourite artists/photographers? Who has mostly influenced your style?

Edward Weston, Ansel Adams, John William Polidori

Has your style of shooting changed since you first started?

Yes a lot, I have started working on the composition.

Where is your favourite place to shoot?

All places and no places.

Do you think equipment is important in achieving your vision in your photography? What would you say to someone just starting out?

I think that equipment only becomes important later, experimenting first counts.

What characteristics do you think you need to become a photographer? What’s your tips or advice for someone in your genre?

Study the photos of great photographers and the technique of shooting and processing.

Have you ever been involved in the artistic world before photography?

No, although I studied architecture.

Are there any special projects you are currently working on that you would like to let everyone know about?

Not yet.

If I wasn't photographing what would I be doing?...

I don't really know...

Thank you Laura!
