MARCO LUGLI

I am a mechanical engineer working in the hydraulic sector, where my daily life is shaped by rigor, precision, and logic. At the same time, my personal life has taught me something very different, a sense of complexity, subtlety, and the constant movement of emotion. Between these two worlds, photography has become a space of freedom.

I photograph to express what goes beyond who I am in everyday life. It allows me to give voice to something that does not exist within formulas or procedures, but within intuition, silence, and contrast. Through the camera, I explore what escapes control, what cannot be measured, and what exists between order and chaos.

My visual language is built on reduction. I work in black and white to remove what is unnecessary and allow the essence of the image to emerge. I describe my approach as entropic minimalism, where simplicity and complexity exist at the same time, where the image appears ordered but carries an internal tension.

Experimentation is an essential part of my process. I push the limits of what can be seen by working with form, space, and absence, allowing what is not immediately visible to surface. I am not interested in resolving the image, but in opening it, so that it can continue to shift and reveal itself over time.
